Responsibilities:
UI Designer
- UI design - Work with product management to define workflows with a focus on usability. Convert wireframe and powerpoint mockups of new product features (or existing feature redesigns) into beautifully simple UI. Create pixel perfect mockups and iterate with development to translate design into working product.
- UI behavior - Smartsheet is an interactive application so it's important to nail the transitions and visual effects as users work with the app. Need a point of view and ability to balance visual appeal, simplicity and functionality across the spectrum, from major workflows all the way down to details such as mouse over treatments, how a form closes, how a message is displayed, etc.
- Ongoing graphical support - as the product suite grows there will be an ongoing need to create assets such as icons, images, banners, etc.
Website
- Creative design - Ongoing creative work for the website to enhance our brand and visually communicate what we do and how we are different.
Marketing
- Drive the creative side of marketing initiatives (primarily online), including design and production of pay per click ads and landing pages, other online ads/banners,and design input for case studies and presentations.
- Create consistent branding for customer outreach communications, including emails and other related retention initiatives.
- Collaborate on product demonstration and promotional videos.
Qualifications:
- Simple, clean, intuitive design approach
- Love for the pixel, respect for the brand
- Experience in designing robust, user-friendly Ajax/JavaScript web apps
- Solid understanding of user-centered design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or similar tools
