Job description
Organize and distribute the tasks, change requests and the needed
actions among the team members according to the resources availability
and the members' capabilities to assure the best quality and customer
satisfaction levels.
Key responsibilities
? Evaluate and approve the needed changes on the Database level to assure the business continuity and service quality.
? Plan and evaluate the needed enhancements in the Database
Performance and Data Security consulting the technical team and the
vendors to cope the business growth, and the service expansions and the
technology changes in the most efficient and effective way.
? Plan implementing and using the best solutions, technologies, and
products fitting the business and best enhancing the operation by being
up to date of the existing technology related to the database and the
telecom industry.
? Follow up with the project managers, vendors, contracting team and
head of teams to assure progressing the projects and contracts in the
proper way.
? Plan for the continuous enhancements in the operational tasks to meet the organization objectives.
? Continuous revisiting and enhancing the different backup and
recovery strategies assuring the best data recovery time using the new
technologies to match the business expansions. Agree and communicate the
policies with the business team for referencing.
? Spot, screen, interview and hire new candidates with the
coordination with the recruitment team. Prepare and follow up the
orientation and the services handover for the new comers.
? Prepare the Training and Development plans for the team members to match the forecasted business needs and new technologies.
? Set the Team members objectives, agree with them on it, and follow
up and control applying them. Evaluate and performance appraises the
team members.
? Report the projects' progresses and the incidents' statuses to the top management.
Qualifications
- BS in Computers Science, Engineering or equivalents
- Minimum 4 Years experience in using Oracle database server and ERP systems
- Minimum total 8 years experience in the IT industry
- Minimum 2 years experience in Service Management or leading a team of minimum 3 members
- Knowledge in the Backup and Recovery, Oracle Database Performance and tuning and Oracle High Availability solutions specially Oracle RAC, Oracle Streams and Oracle Data Guard
- Experience in the Oracle Database installations, migrations and patch-sets updates
- Knowledge in UNIX/Linux OS
- Highly motivated and competent with decision-making ability
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
