Job description
Optimize the radio network to have the optimum performance through
standard guidelines in alignment with the department objectives.
Key responsibilities
1. Apply effective tuning measures to improve 2G/3G network KPIs
including Call Failure Rate (CFR), Call Drop Rate (CDR), Handover
Success Rate, Soft Handover Success Rate, Location Area update, Paging
Success rate and CSSR and HSDPA/EDGE/GPRS KPI?s.
2. Outline and provide short term network capacity studies for the
required 2G/3G expansions ensuring network performance in alignment with
marketing promotions and subscriber growth.
3. Initiate and participate in trials for new products, features and projects.
4. Enhance competitive position and participation in clusters and
major roads optimization campaigns and bench marking against other
operators through drive test and performance monitoring.
5. Actively participate in resolving customers? complaints
6. Solve and correct radio network problems according to agreed
timing and standards set, to detect and highlight radio network
deficiencies and to some extent predict future degradations
7. Apply frequency re-tuning and antenna optimization in coordination with Radio Network Design (RND)
8. Co-ordinate with the RF planning, Rollout teams to ensure new sites have acceptable performance.
9. Prepare technical reports and conduct presentation related to the Section?s activities, achievements and outstanding issues.
10. Design and review regular drive test routes; performs field drive test measurement and analysis.
11. Provide drive test and performance monitoring of re-homed sites
and new BSC/RNC through co-ordination with capacity planning in short
term re-homing and new BSC/RNC plans and approvals.
Qualifications
- ? University Degree in Electrical Engineering
- ? Minimum 1 to 2 years experience Mobile industry
- ? Good computer skills.
- ? Good knowledge in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point.
- ? Experience in drive test tools as TEMS, OSS and MapInfo
- ? Good in Arabic & English, reading, writing, & oral.
